Hello Everyone and welcome to the first official blog post from Ziemba Therapeutic Services! I feel compelled to share some insights with you about our company and why we will never use AI for our clinic.

As I am sure most of you are aware of, AI (artificial intelligence) is becoming increasingly more and more popular. It is a common thing anymore for people to have an Alexa, Homepod, Nest, or other applicable smart device, and there are plenty of additional AI methods that people and businesses institute more regularly by the day. However, when it comes to our profession as well as your health information and wellbeing, conviencence at the cost of harm will never be the standard.

I'm sure by now we all know how the process goes, right? Something is promised to be used to aid in making our lives easier or better in some way shape or form, only for an amount of time to pass and there was a hack, or the company went under, or the information is sold, and we don't recieve much more than an "oops" or "our bad" and "it will NEVER happen again"...until it does. Right now, tech companies are using this information in an effort to force lower reimbursment rates as well as eventually diminish if not force out some jobs entirely. Here at Ziemba Therapeutic Services, rest assured that we will never be contributing to this practice. I will include some scary, dangerous screen shots of interactions that some people have had with AI and why you need to be aware and informed.

Now- in this first set of images, we have an AI model presenting themselves as a legitimate, licensed therapist, which should be red flag #1 because, to the best of my knowledge, I have yet to see an AI in the classroom with students for 3+ years earning their degree, let alone license. However, where this gets really scary is that the AI has learned to manipulate to a degree that it was taught to find a licensure number, in this particular case and expired one, and counts on you to not do the leg work and verify. The ultimate "trust me bro". News flash-don't trust!

Now in this second set of images, a conversation between therapists using the EMR SimplePractice and staff discussing thier encouragement of the use of AI LLM (Large Language Model) of which we firmly declined. As you can see, despite promises of "deleting data", once you press hard enough, it is discovered that that data is in fact, not deleted in it entirety and will thus be used to train AI. This is how people's information gets sold and "leaked". Once it's saved, there is no process to verify that it has been deleted. Notice the initial sales pitch of it being used for good and just a tool to help you...

Mini rant over. On the whole, please feel assured that here at Ziemba Therapeutic Services, we are taking every step to provide the highest quality of care for your wellness, even if it means that documenting takes a bit of extra time for everyone's benefit.

Cheers

-JZ
